Spring gardening diversion

I've got this design in my head for a beach landscape, but it's been difficult to ignore the great weather for gardening. The interruption has inspired my inner "earth mother" to prepare the yard and acquire beautiful plants. Of course, in Ocean Shores that means deer resistant plantings that won't disappear a day or two after I plant them! Shasta daisies and rhubarb are always favorites...

I'm also gambling some fragrant herbs will avoid the deer "infestation", including mint and sage...

And, I'm preparing the yard for ground cover and a beautiful lilac bush...

Although the garden is taking me away from working on that landscape design, it makes me smile and enjoy the mild spring weather this year. Hope you're enjoying the same!

Graduation gift

This recent quilt is a gift for my niece's high school graduation. It's an easy pattern called Recipe Cards, and is excellent for featuring large, bold prints.
